Do I Have a Temper? Yes — But Not the Kind You Think.
A man trying to get to know me asked if I ever have a cruel streak.
I wanted to say no.
But actually… yes.
Just not in the way men usually mean it.
I have a very high tolerance for bullshit. I give people the benefit of the doubt. I give chances — sometimes more than I should. If you light my fuse, you didn’t just stumble into it. You crossed a line. A serious one.
Once, I’ll tell you what you did wrong and why I don’t tolerate it.
Twice, and it’s not a mistake anymore — it’s a choice.
And, of course, there are the bottom-feeders: the ones who say something so egregious, so jaw-droppingly stupid, that I immediately see red and have to bite down hard on my temper just to give them that one fair chance at redemption.
What Anger Looks Like on Me
When I’m angry, I don’t yell.
I don’t scream.
I don’t throw things.
And I rarely curse.
My anger is quieter — and far more dangerous.
It shows only in my eyes.
My voice stays calm, articulate, precise.
And then I do something most people never see coming:
I target your deepest insecurity — the one you thought you hid — and I press on it with surgical accuracy. Not to be cruel. Not to destroy you.
But to ensure you understand why what you did crossed a line.
Most people choose flight.
Some try to fight, but they come to a battle of wits unarmed and unaware. I have rarely been bested.
And if it ever gets physical…
If someone wants to get physical, I don’t initiate.
I don’t fight for sport.
And I don’t hit people out of anger.
Because fighting is usually just a sign you’ve lost control of your emotions.
But defend myself?
Absolutely.
And yes — I will use every advantage I have in my arsenal: my size, my agility, my intelligence, and the fact that most people underestimate a small woman.
I’m not ashamed of that.
It’s strategy, not savagery.
The Short Answer?
Yes.
I have a temper.
But it’s the kind that comes with discipline, discernment, and the ability to articulate exactly where you went wrong while you wonder how the hell I learned so much about you in such a short amount of time.
