Pausing at the edge of reason, she peers around the oak as if to glimpse what hides behind pride, pretense, and poor decisions — the first step through the looking glass.
Like a reflection, everything was reversed. Logic was nonsensical.
Can you be right when everything around you is so bizarrely wrong?
To start with — fuck you, Mr. Clean Douche.
(And yes, before anyone asks — that moniker is intentional. From my last post, it seems I need to clarify that he quite literally resembles the all-purpose cleaner mascot.)
Despite the fact that I had zero interest in hanging out with you — or any of the other barflies, for that matter — I felt bad for you. You were alone on your last night in town.
I wasn’t trying to be a dick or holier-than-thou, but the last time I extended grace under similar circumstances, I got treated like the whore who wouldn’t accept a kiss.
Guess what? You can absolutely be Vivian Ward (Pretty Woman) — and still set a boundary that prohibits kissing. You don’t need a reason beyond you simply don’t care to.
Sideline:
You know you might have a problem when you feel personally offended because someone refuses to drink with you.
This will be short:
If it’s unequivocally established that there’s zero chance for any type of relationship beyond friendship — and you choose to ignore that, hearing only what you want — then,
“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
It makes absolutely no sense that I have to waterboard you with the same information again:
We were never on a date.
We will never be anything more than friends.
Seriously — why do you care what I do?
Why do you care if I almost kissed a socially awkward, not-exactly-GQ guy on his birthday because I thought it would be funny? Sweet, even?
Are you such a vain peacock that your tail feathers got ruffled over the theoretical musing of a woman to whom you have zero claim?
Please.
Do not berate me about being “disrespectful.”
Your assertion is absurd.
