It’s incredible how life seems to fall magically into place when you start trusting your gut. Don’t adhere to society’s prescription of what success should look like.
There’s a reason why so many people achieve everything they’re supposed to want—earn the degrees, land the high-paying career, marry the “perfect” partner, buy the house with the white picket fence, raise 2.5 kids and a golden doodle—and yet, somewhere in their 30s, 40s, or 50s, they still find themselves unhappy.
The brutal reality is that most people never take the time to truly figure out who they are—and, therefore, what they actually need to achieve genuine happiness.
It’s a tough pill to swallow, but when you reach that realization, you have two choices:
- Look back and accept the years you “wasted” pursuing someone else’s dreams (though no experience is ever truly a waste if you’re willing to see the lesson).
- Or waste the rest of your life.
Dare to be bold. Choose yourself. Pursue your dreams.
It’s a terrifying road to take a leap of faith—but really, what’s the difference between fear and excitement?
